the pre-eminent figure of the Chinese Communist revolution and the leader of his country since 1949. No mention of the fact that, if you exclude reckless but not purposely murderous government policies--for example, the loss of over 20 million Chinese during the famine of 1959-'62, which was caused by the failure of the Great Leap Forward, Mao was the number two mass-murderer of all time.
