Jonah Goldberg quotes George Orwell, who wrote in 1942, "Pacifism is objectively pro-fascist. This is elementary common sense. If you hamper the war effort of one side you automatically help out that of the other." But he should be careful applying that quote too broadly. Against some enemies (not the Taliban), moderating one's response might actually be more effective. And you cannot go to war against all your enemies.
