Stupid remark alert (thanks to the best of the web) from a defender of people who occupy two airline seats, but only want to pay for one: "For an airline to charge people double based on the person's size is pure discrimination," Miss Berg said. "Do they discriminate the same way against basketball players who are 6 foot 5 inches and don't fit in their seats?" Of course it is discrimination. The airline is trying to discriminate between basketball players whose heads might tower over their seatbacks, and the morbidly obese who have taken half my seat (and half of the other seat) without even an apology. And then in one case, it was the fat guy who got bumped to first class. Talk about a moral hazard.
