Mandatory dinner was pretty good.
We went to the London Bridge fish!, at Borough Market, a real outdoor produce market, which caters to restaurant buyers. Despite the grills in the open, it was not TOO fishy, and not TOO smoky. Their vision of a traditional fish soup was blended. Interesting, but not what I expected. It tasted fishy, and of tomato, but I would have preferred being able to identify the ingredients. Then, the Chilean Sea Bass atop a bed of julienned veggies (a small percentage was actually green), sides of new potato and salad. All on separate plates, the way traditional men favour. A bottle of merlot between the two of us was much more sensible than last night's pints followed by two bottles for three. Dozed from 10:00 until midnight, and then got a second wind (unfortunately not sleeping, and too tired to work out). Then, morning meetings, and the Heathrow Express, more infuriating (because I believe it is ultimately ineffective) security delivered, but with a much more soothing accent, an endless flight, rudeness on our side of the Atlantic, and a ton of un-answered e-mail from prime US Hours. All of it worthwhile.
