Working in DC. The building lobby here really looks great. Garlands on the banisters, poinsettias and wreaths on the lobby level, and artificial trees and garlands with tiny white lights on the overhangs in the atrium. Funny how my apartment is an Art Deco building also.

Off to a semi-mandatory dinner tonight. Southwestern motif (even the swizzle sticks were shaped like a strand of barbed wire). Had an enormous hunk of chicken (as if they managed to pull off an entire breast, going up one side and then down the other side), very moist, with sweet potatoes, garlicky salad, and chocolate mousse. A bit too much, a bit too late, but it could have been worse.
